The Kenaboi River Challenge began in 1993 in conjunction with the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Malaysia (DID) "Love Our Rivers" Campaign. It was a programme initiated by the State DID Together with the Negeri Sembilan State Government. In 2007 the Rapids Challenge, a white water kayak sporting event was introduced and in 2008 the Rapids Challenge saw the participation of international kayakers from Canada, Australia and Singapore. Today, this program is called the Kenaboi International River Challenge and forms part of the Negeri Sembilan Eco Tourism Calander.
The Competition will be divided into 2 (two) categories : Rapids Challenge and River Challenge
In the Rapids Challenge, Participants are expected to encounter four rapids, 1. Kekabu Rapids, 2. Tedung Rapids, 3. Tupat Rapids and 4. Lesung Rapids. The starting point is from Kampung Esok. Heats will be held and only 10 (ten) of the best time will be chosen for the finalist.
In the River Challenge, Participants have to complete the 32km distance from Kampung Puom to The Triang Gilir Headworks.
Event Day:
Rapids Challenge : 3rd December 2011 (Saturday).
Rivers Challenge : 4th November 2011 (Sunday).
